About 40 people came out for the July 1 Canada Day Jitney, organized by Ross Bulley. After a group picture, the singing of Oh Canada, and a Spider, three 4 end games were played of "Forehand vs Backhand Bias - Which is Easier?," "Bocce Ball Lawn Bowls," and "Where you want to be scoring Zone."
Betty Locke won the Spider; the team of Bill Younger, Vivian Bleeks, and Penny Stephenson won "Most Helpful Team"; the team of Ian Hammocks, Carol McCoy, Joan Appleton, and Lucky Thiara were the runners up; and the winning team was Sue Higbie, Penny Irvine, and Kim Ferguson. Ian and Sue's teams were tied with 35 points each but Sue won in a bowl roll-off with Ian.
Following the bowling fun, people ate their bag lunches and shared desserts, which were amazing. Our members can bowl and bake!
